Invescasa investor night event was a real success. Success in our Invescasa world is defined as connections and great experiences. Launching an event to showcase our impact on the investors was something I had envisioned since I started the business. I wanted to create events and spaces for people to share their stories and meet, but more importantly, an avenue for me to express my feelings and discuss property.
Most people that attended were investors, family, and friends. We had great food and drinks. I presented our story and my roots. For me, it was very important to share where I come from and why I do what I do.
My Grandfather was a successful banker for the BCH in 1980 in Colombia. He was the general manager until he retired. My Father was a real estate developer and architect. Very successful, he built the city’s major buildings, including the first shopping center, the main city icons, land subdivisions, and unit blocks.
Why did it all fail? was the main topic of my presentation because despite having a great background in Property and finance, both generations had their troubles and turbulences. Finding this answer to my why is what brought us here.
A few things I learned from them: always get three quotes, negotiate hard, look people in the eyes, and treat everyone the same from the bricklayer to the CEO of the bank!
After I myself moved to Australia to try to find my reason, I set the path of getting into a career that would help me understand that and the future so that I could avoid as much trouble and turbulence. I found RMIT university and pursued a degree in property valuations and investment, which I completed with honors.
Then I took multiple jobs until the last one I had, which had the biggest impact. An investment business that taught me everything from managing portfolios for very successful investors and dealing with major clients to acquiring more than 700 properties nationally and participating in transactions totaling more than 1bn.
My eagerness to succeed and learn led me to create Invescasa. As the captain of the boat providing stewardship to my investors and clients, I hope to keep doing this for as long as I can and give access to the good life to those who remind me of my roots and community.
We envision this company to be the link between the world and Australia. All the migration that comes here needs to understand life and understand the belief systems and frameworks so we know how to move forward.
